BLEACHED TOUR: DOUBLE PASS GIVEAWAY
Boss women, Bleached are bringing their sunshiney, west coast vibes to Australia for the first time this Spring.
Sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin, developed their craft within Mika Miko - a rough around the edges DIY punk group that guaranteed a wild live set and was greatly appreciated by regulars of The Smell. Retiring to focus on Bleached now with added bassist, Micayla Grace, Jennifer as lead vocalist and Jessica as lead guitarist they released Ride Your Heart in 2013.
The much-hyped band were soon rewarded with recognition and a taste of fame among West Coast musical circles. Unfortunately, the rock and roll lifestyle dominated, with partying and drinking leading to emotional drain and personal trauma. The remedy? Writing and recording masses of material in the desolate Joshua Tree desert, surrounds perfect for creative clarity and a welcome escape from LA vices. The resulting ten-track LP, Welcome the Worms, released earlier in 2016 displays confidence and positivity from the holistically renewed artists.
Welcome to Worms combines the warm fuzziness, 60’s girl group sensibility with the clarity and fine tuning of 70’s rock groups - a hybridisation of playfulness and naivety of The Shangri-Las with the edge and cool slick of The Ramones.
Ahead of their gig at Mojos on Wednesday the 28th of September, we have a giveaway! Head over to our Facebook or Instagram, like, tag a friend and/or share our post to be in the running for a double pass to the gig.
