PREVIEW: Mosquito Coast Announce "Let's Be Friends" National Tour

Perth duo Mosquito Coast have announced their first national headline tour to promote their new single “Let’s Be Friends”, our first taste of their as of yet unannounced debut EP expected to drop later this year. The Triple J Unearthed High winners of 2015 will be playing a string of dates across the country in August and September. Joining them on stage for their Perth show will be Stonefox, Dream Rimmy and Human Buoy

Naomi Robinson and Conor Barton of Mosquito Coast caught the attention of the nation with their earworm of a song “Call My Name”, which landed them at spot #101 in the Hottest 100 of 2015 and earned them the Unearthed High crown. They soon followed it up with the equally catchy “Commotion”. Since, they’ve been recording their debut EP in Sydney and have honed their live show by supporting the likes of Abbe May, San Cisco and Gang of Youths, not to mention festival dates at Groovin the Moo and State of the Art. Their latest single, “Let’s Be Friends”, perfectly demonstrates their appeal; a gorgeous dream pop soundscape delivered with killer hooks, not unlike Beach House or Methyl Ethel.

They sound great on record, but their sound really comes to life in a live setting. Bolstered by an expanded touring band, their show is sure to captivate audiences and get you singing and dancing. Having seen them live three times already, I can attest to this. Starting their tour in front of a home crowd at Mojo’s Bar on Friday 26 August, the band will then play dates in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney and will deliver a set at BIGSOUND in Brisbane. Tickets to the Fremantle show are on sale now, don’t miss out!
