TPFF: Flannel - 'She works hard for the money. Work hard, play hard.'
A chic runway show last night at Fashion Paramount down on the Terrace lived up to Flannel’s philosophy of ‘Live, Work and Play!’ A family business established for the carefree luxe traveller curated a mix of fresh strong lines and floral designs. The Olivia collection presented last night hosted an array of local modeling talent in a simple runway design with candlelit lanterns and flowers dispersed around the catwalk.
The collection was soft, unpretentious and incidentally stunning with apparent personalized fabrics for that freewheeling bohemian look. Some “crowd” favourites included the silk bloomers, blouses and ruffled dresses. The 70’s lovechild theme continued from dreamy daywear, to long relaxed evening maxis and a small selection of delicate accessories. Personally, the first half of the menswear was a little disappointing featuring checked shirts, blazers and stock standard coloured denim. However the women’s wear stood out with warm raspberry colours and hand embroidered silk fabrics, perfect for the upcoming season.
Overall, the brand seems to be expanding exponentially with plans to move their brand over to the US. The vibe at Fashion Paramount proved to be enthusiastic but collected.
